STS "LORD NELSON"

Winter 2004 I joined "LORD NELSON" as medical purser. This is a position combining the duties of the ship's nurse with those of a purser. "Nellie" as she ship is colled by her friends is a purpose built barque for sailing with a mixed abilities crew. They cater for various kinds of handicap from mild problems like Diabetis or old age to severe disablities like blind or deaf people or wheelchair users. The idea is to help everybody to be a useful part of the crew. 

Summer 2019 I returned to "LORD NELSON" as supernumerary OOW for a 14-days voyage in the Norwegian Fjords. She is still a lovely ship with a highly motivated crew and happy trainees of mixed abilities. Unfortunately the ship will be decommissioned October 2019.
